SUPERCHAMPS MISSION
What is our mission?
1-Promote the sport of Stand Up Paddle Boarding by bringing the worlds best competition to GB & NI waters. Increase participation in competitive paddling which will benefit the health & happiness of all involved.
2-Promote the destination that is TORBAY, the English Riviera through our 10 YEAR plan. With international competition staying in the same location for the first 5 years, commercial partners can be engaged for the greater good of the sport and competition.
3-Promote water safety and drowning prevention for ALL by modelling safe practices when IN, ON or AROUND water. Support the charity of ABOVE WATER to teach school age children water safety and promote 'blue space' activities.
To achieve our mission, the STAND UP PADDLE ENGLISH RIVIERA CHAMPIONSHIPS or SUPERCHAMPS were born. This international competition will support a GB & NI bid to host a future SUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. To be successful for such a WORLD CHAMPS, competitive SUP needs to be taken to the next level in GB & NI with greater participation leading into a world class events. Working with PaddleUK, the governing body for SUP in England, the SUPERCHAMPS will be a weekend of SUP racing on par with any NATIONAL championships held anywhere in the world. To host such an event will cost more, in the first year, than any other SUP event ever held on this island nation. This is why it is part of a 10 year plan to develop stand up paddle boarding in GB & NI.
