SUPERCHAMPS SUSTAINABILITY and OUR environment
The partnerships we develop as an event are helping to cut greenhouse gases, reduce waste, and educate our participants about sustainability and caring for the environment.
From working with partners that only use Eco-design products, working with brands that only use biodegradable and/or recyclable packaging. Our focus is to always educate our participants. We are conscious that water is a precious resource and although we make access to drinking water and water to wash as open as possible for our participants, we also educate on best practice to limit the amount of water that is used.
Recycling zones are located at every event, but we ask our participants to take all rubbish home and recycle appropriately.
We ask that participants bringing their own board to our events ensure it is thoroughly washed in fresh water. We then provide a board wash zone at our events to prevent the spread of any disease or pests. (SUPERCHAMPS partner- Biomate)
We have a 6 point code that we share whenever possible…
- BUY GOOD QUALITY SUP EQUIPMENT
Buying high-quality goods is one of the best ways to reduce your carbon footprint and overall waste.
- USE ECO-FRIENDLY GEAR MADE FROM SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS TO CUT DOWN ON PLASTIC WASTE
Sustainability does not stop at your paddle board. From backpacks and dry bags to reusable water bottles, you can add to your gear in an environmentally conscious way.
Adding a trusted water bottle to your gear is awesome and a quick way to put a stop to single-use plastic.
- RULE OF THREE
The ‘Rule of Three’ is used by beach lovers, surfers, and paddle boarders alike. The principle is extremely simple – pick up at leastthree pieces of plastic each time you are on the beach.
- CHANGE HOW YOU GET TO YOUR SUP SPOT
Carpool whenever you can?
Changing how you get to your SUP spot is a small thing you can do to reduce your overall carbon footprint. You will feel so much better for doing it.
- LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS
Shouldn’t need to explain this one!
- SUPPORT
Support those that are leading the way to make a better planet.
